An Ode to Soulmates

We are meant to meet many soulmates throughout our time on this mortal coil.

Some arrive as fleeting lessons, leaving behind imprints that linger long after they’ve gone. Others entwine themselves in our roots, offering unwavering stability and rekindling our faith in something greater than ourselves.

But in our fixation on time as a linear force, we often let loss consume us, forgetting that every departure carries its own lesson.

The universe, however, always seeks balance.

Each lesson lays the foundation for the next soul to enter our lives—this is what it means to live sustainably.

It’s not about chasing immediate gratification, though even that holds its place, as a teacher.

I still cherish every soul I’ve had the honor of knowing, even those whose departures were painful. Each one helped me heal, so that when the next arrived, I could meet them with steadiness instead of scarcity.

To the lessons, I’m sorry if I was the test you struggled with, but thank you for being the test I passed.

And to the roots—may the support and sustainability you offer be returned to you for eternity.
